Blackburst Teams Up with Regional Workforce Boards

Workforce Alliance Overview Video

Videos help attract new employers, educate jobseekers, and promote One Stop Centers.

In 2006, Blackburst began providing workforce video production services to Workforce Central Florida. The goal was to create a video to inform people on the many free services Workforce Central Florida was offering through their One Stop Career Centers. The project was very successful, and later that year, Blackburst created a second video for WFCF to aid with their Welfare Transition Program. The Welfare Transition video guided jobseekers through the Welfare Program requirements and gave them an overview of their path to new employement.

In 2007, Workforce Alliance of Palm Beach County reached out to Blackburst. Workforce Alliance’s goal was to communicate to new businesses, in the Palm Beach area, a more detailed picture of what WFA could do for them. Althought, Blackburst is an Orlando based production company, we travel regularly. Our producers, director and crew shot at the West Palm Beach facility and conducted location interviews with area business leaders who had already worked with WFA to find employees for their business. The video began with an introduction by a local television news anchor, giving credibility, and for some, a familiar face. The video project was a great success for WFA in reaching out to new businesses in their South Florida.

Since then, Blackburst has created many more videos for Regional Workforce Boards in Orlando, Palm Beach County and around Florida. The latest videos are ‘workshop’ type projects, teaching skills such as resume writing, dressing for success and interviewing skills. The ‘Workforce’ projects are a great example of how video projects were able to communicate ideas and concepts to the community – effectively, creatively and ultimately, more affordably than in-person.
